Whitney Wolfe Herd Lands On The Cover Of Forbes Magazine

The CEO and found of Bumble is Whitney Wolfe Herd, who appeared in the cover of Forbes magazine December’s issue. She made the cover because of the work she has done, more specifically with Bumble, which is a fast growing dating app.

Whitney Wolfe Herd has worked hard to grow Bumble and as a result, the app now has over 20 million users. Forbes pointed out that Bumble started to monetize in summer 2016 via in-app purchases, and last year it did over $90 million in sales. By the end of this year, sales are expect to double.

In early 2017, Whitney Wolfe Herd was offered a $450 million buyout by Match Group, but she turned it down. Bumble continued to thrive, and it’s worth pointing out that over 10% of the app’s users pay a monthly subscription fee to access extra things, such as more time to figure out whether or not a suitor should receive a message. The monthly subscription fee is just under ten dollars. When Herd created Bumble, she wanted to give women more power. This is why women are in full control of initial contact, which means women don’t have to worry about receiving unsolicited photos.Bumble was launched in 2014 and it is currently valued at over a billion dollars.
