Sudhir Choudhrie is an Indian entrepreneur born in 1949 in Delhi, India. He has played a vital role in diplomacy, international commerce, and philanthropy. Besides, he is renowned for his participation in philanthropy. His career enabled him to explore meaningful ventures such as the partnership with Taj Hotels resort and working as the non–Executive Director of Ebookers PLC.
Sudhir Choudhrie encountered challenging situations but overcame them. Having experienced a failing heart before and receiving a heart transplant, he promotes organ donations, especially heart transplants. His passion for making people’s lives better is rooted in his life experiences and how he overcame the severe illness.
Sudhir had his first medical exam at eight years old, revealing that his heart valve was leaking. Although it was a complex condition, Sudhir Choudhrie achieved life success. He received his degree in economics and founded Magnum Trading Company Ltd in 1975. Sudhir had two heart attacks and other health issues that accelerated the need for a transplant.
Genetic testing showed that Sudhir Choudhrie had the titin gene mutation, increasing the risk of heart failure. In 1999, Sudhir was lucky to get a donor, and Dr. Mehmet Oz conducted the procedure successfully. Although therapy was necessary, he recovered earlier than expected.
Sudhir Choudhrie is among the longest-living heart recipients in the world. After the successful surgery, he promised to be a positive ambassador and look for other recipients and donors. He launched a charitable organization to support organ donorship and has dedicated most of his time and energy to support medical charities and education fields.
Sudhir also wrote a fantastic book titled “from my heart: A tale of life, Love and destiny”. The book became the bestseller on Amazon. Sudhir has always been thankful for having a second chance to live.
